Raquel Newman - Emergency and Critical Care Veterinarian

Dr Raquel Newman is one of the principal emergency and critical care veterinarians at the Southern Animal Referral Centre.

With over a decade of both local and international experience, Raquel brings to her role at the Centre a wealth of experience and qualification.

Raquel has worked in both general vet practice and emergency settings in London, Hong Kong and further abroad. Raquel has gained additional small animal emergency and critical care qualifications in both the British and Australian veterinary industries, which reflects her high level of competence and experience in the small animal emergency field. In 2004 Raquel successfully completed her membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists (MACVSc) in small animal emergency and critical care medicine.

Raquel has been a senior veterinarian at the Centre since its opening in 2003.
