Abdominal Ultrasound Goes Gold
1 March 2009
The Southern Animal Referral Centre has added dedicated abdominal ultrasound capabilities to its dedicated cardiac ultrasound services with the acquisition of the new Esaote MyLab Gold 30 Vet. Referrers and their clients can now benefit from top quality ultrasound diagnostics for a larger range of cases.
The Esaote MyLab Gold 30 Vet ultrasound is mounted on a small, robust card and has a long-life battery allowing it to be used almost anywhere in the hospital. This means that whether it is needed in a consultation room, procedure area or cage-side, the MyLab can be quickly and easily manoeuvred for maximum effectiveness in minimum time. The system is both portable and of extremely high image quality, making it appropriate for a huge range of emergency and non-emergency imaging scenarios.
For example, dyspnoeic patients no longer need to be moved from oxygen tents for survey imaging and large immobile patients can be imaged without being moved from hospital cages. In addition to its mobility, the MyLab Gold 30 Vet boasts superb image quality, providing high quality diagnostics for in-depth workups.
The MyLab comes equipped with full colour Doppler capabilities and can be used for high quality cardiac imaging where needed. The backup of dedicated cardiac ultrasound is available for more in-depth workup if required, guaranteeing that patients receive the ultrasound diagnostics most likely to provide a solid diagnosis.
The MyLab Gold 30 Vet is available 24/7 for either in-house patients or for outpatient referrals. All outpatient referrals receive a disc with all still and moving images (cine loops) included so that the referring vet can see exactly what SARC vets see during the examination.
If you would like to enquire about ultrasound imaging either for a referred patient or as part of a veterinary workup through a primary care veterinary facility, please do not hesitate to contact the Southern Animal Referral Centre on (03) 9532 5261.
