Surgical Oncology

The Centre is home to Dr Charles Kuntz, one of the top veterinary surgical oncologists world-wide. Charles has completed a fellowship in veterinary surgical oncology at Colorado State University, the largest veterinary cancer centre in the world. He has also been a contributing author on dozens of publications, abstracts, conference proceedings and book chapters on the subject of surgical oncology. He was asked to edit the oncology section of Slatter's Textbook of Surgery, the standard textbook for veterinary surgery. He has chared a meeting of the oncology section of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Charles has performed well over 2000 surgeries for the removal of cancer in dogs and cats and has achieved cure of the primary tumour in around 96% of all curative attempts.

The surgical oncology service is supplemented by the Centre's advanced imaging facility, radiotherapy and chemotherapy services, and is backed by the full out-of-hours veterinary care, meaning that all surgical patients are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This translates to a comprehensive service of the highest quality for your pet.
